First post.

Museums are rarely considered to be places of humor, but we giggle amongst ourselves all the time with the ridiculous stuff people do. Just for fun I want to give us our own little fail blog, a little bit funny, a little bit educational.  Any pictures posted will be anonymous, recognizable museum names will be blurred to protect the good names of our workplaces and employees.

Picture number 1: How NOT to number artifacts. each one of these is supposed to be an identifier for an artifact. I particularly like the question mark and the sudden addition of roman numerals that appear nowhere else.

  1. I take it the missing one is 128,5.

  2. Sadly I think that question mark will never be solved.

  3. Love your blog. During an inventory I've often had to include question marks because the numbering was done so illegible.

  4. Ah the question mark. It says so much but so little.

  5. It's often replaced or accompanied by a hearty #. Personally I love (?) best. It says I'm not sure if I'm not sure....
