Museums are rarely considered to be places of humor, but we giggle amongst ourselves all the time with the ridiculous stuff people do. Just for fun I want to give us our own little fail blog, a little bit funny, a little bit educational. Any pictures posted will be anonymous, recognizable museum names will be blurred to protect the good names of our workplaces and employees.
Picture number 1: How NOT to number artifacts. each one of these is supposed to be an identifier for an artifact. I particularly like the question mark and the sudden addition of roman numerals that appear nowhere else.
What NOT to do when working in a museum, or with your own art collection. ** Not affiliated with any company, of any sort, anywhere. Seriously, anything else with a name that sounds kinda like us, or has the word Art in the name, it isn't me! Know how t people everyday are not part of a fail blog? That is how museums and art organizations are also! 99% of the work is AWESOME... but sometimes, we want to share the other part so we can feel superior and learn not to do these things again.
I take it the missing one is 128,5.
ReplyDeleteSadly I think that question mark will never be solved.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. During an inventory I've often had to include question marks because the numbering was done so illegible.
ReplyDeleteAh the question mark. It says so much but so little.
ReplyDeleteIt's often replaced or accompanied by a hearty #. Personally I love (?) best. It says I'm not sure if I'm not sure....
ReplyDeleteoh, this MADE my Friday! thanks I have been wanting to start a blog like this for a while but didn't have the courage. I will check back often!
