If I get more of these sort I will have to make people guess what it is! I was sent this beauty from a fellow museum professional.
We all know that there is a time and a place for packing tape, I love the stuff! But this is a little extreme.
If you haven't guessed yet what lovely item is being choked in this frightening unopenable package, it is.
A pasta machine!!
On the plus side, it sure is not getting dusty...
What NOT to do when working in a museum, or with your own art collection. ** Not affiliated with any company, of any sort, anywhere. Seriously, anything else with a name that sounds kinda like us, or has the word Art in the name, it isn't me! Know how t people everyday are not part of a fail blog? That is how museums and art organizations are also! 99% of the work is AWESOME... but sometimes, we want to share the other part so we can feel superior and learn not to do these things again.
I barely have time to make courtesy tabs with the tape let alone attempt modern art with it.
ReplyDeleteAt least its brown packing tape so you "can" see it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they made archival brown packing tape . . . oh, wait . . .
ReplyDeleteNot to mention what the tape residue does to your tools, the scissors and knives you have to wield frighteningly close to precious artifacts to free them from the hold of tape. You have to use really nasty solvents to clean your tools. After you've freed the stuff. AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!
